Black Boys Code and Black Kids Code (Girls) Launch Inaugural Black History Month Fundraising Campaign to Increase Programmatic Efforts
During February, both nonprofits will reach out to donors to seek funding for future development in Canada and the United States
Vancouver, BC, January 24, 2024 – Black Boys Code and Black Kids Code (Girls) are proud to announce their newest fundraising campaign in honour of Black History Month. Starting on February 1, the organization is hosting a fundraising blitz to increase capacity for programming across Canada and the United States. With more unrestricted support from partner organizations, the team will be able to accomplish its goal of equipping Black youth with more technology and the skills to use it.
“Black Boys Code and Black Kids Code (Girls) have grown exponentially since their founding a few years ago, and we need the financial support to keep up with how quickly things are moving,” Bryan Johnson, Founder and CEO said. “There’s a great need for the work we’re doing to advance and accelerate learning opportunities for our participants, so now is a great time to get involved.”
The Black Boys Code Society proudly supports its students by empowering and encouraging them to see their full potential through the power of education. Having the right tools and resources requires charitable giving from others because it provides staff with the opportunity to keep up with the latest trends in tech and adjacent corporate sectors and share that knowledge with program participants.
Ultimately, the organization’s mission is to celebrate belonging and transformational learning, rather than cultivate a community that prioritizes one over the other. By partnering with corporations and individual contributors who believe in the vision of investing in Black youth today so they can be the leaders of tomorrow, Black Boys Code and Black Kids Code (Girls) can touch the lives of more young people.
“There are a multitude of Black-led and supported organizations doing incredible work year-round that we should be aware of, including Black Boys Code and Black Kids Code (Girls),” Johnson said. “They shouldn’t only be acknowledged this month, but all the time. One way to increase engagement and awareness is through financial support so we can expand our reach and tap into audiences who haven’t come across our work quite yet.”
