Announcing the Los Angeles AI Coding Bootcamp: Preparing the Next Generation of Tech Talent

Black Boys Code is proud to launch an AI Coding Bootcamp — connecting Los Angeles high school students with engineers currently working at Netflix and other tech industry leaders.

Over 12 weeks, students ages 16–17 will move beyond theory into applied learning: building real projects, gaining direct exposure to career pathways in tech, and receiving mentorship from professionals actively working in the industry.

Participants will also leave the program with a reference letter from a participating engineer — a meaningful credential as they begin to chart their own paths forward.

This program reflects what we believe at the core of our work: that early, high-quality exposure to technology and mentorship changes trajectories. When Black youth are given a seat at the table alongside industry professionals, they don’t just learn to code; they start to see themselves as the engineers, innovators, and leaders shaping the future of tech.

Sessions begin Saturday, September 19, and run weekly through the fall at the Baldwin Hills Bethany Community Development Center in Los Angeles.

Applications are open now. Know a student who should apply? Share this with them.
