About this workshop
Join us as we officially launch the Black Boys Code Raleigh-Durham Chapter with an exciting hands-on Artificial Intelligence workshop designed to inspire the next generation of innovators, creators, and technology leaders.
This interactive workshop introduces students to the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) through engaging activities, real-world examples, and hands-on projects. Participants will discover how machines learn, recognize images, understand language, and power many of the technologies they use every day.
Whether your child is completely new to AI or already curious about emerging technologies, this workshop provides a fun and supportive environment to explore, experiment, and build confidence in technology.
Students will:
Think creatively about how AI can solve everyday problems.
Discover what Artificial Intelligence is and how computers “see” the world.
Learn how AI recognizes images, patterns, and objects.
Build and train their own image-recognition model using Google’s Teachable Machine.
Explore real-world AI applications such as facial recognition, self-driving cars, and smart cameras.
Students will:
Design original chatbot concepts that can be developed in future workshops.
Explore how chatbots understand and generate human language.
Learn the fundamentals of Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Interact with ChatGPT through guided activities and prompt engineering exercises.
Evaluate the strengths and limitations of conversational AI.
