A city built on innovation, creativity, and resilience, Detroit has always been a place where new ideas take root and grow. Now, we’re bringing that same spirit to a new generation of young Black innovators.
Black Boys Code is excited to launch in Detroit, giving Black boys ages 8–17 access to free, hands-on tech workshops that inspire creativity, build confidence, and open doors to future careers in technology.

We believe every child deserves the chance to explore, create, and lead in the digital world—regardless of their zip code or background.
Through our engaging, beginner-friendly programs, boys will learn:
- Coding and programming fundamentals
- Game design and app development
- Robotics and AI concepts
- Problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills
Our workshops are designed to be fun, accessible, and empowering—helping boys see themselves as future tech creators, not just consumers.
